Peace...

Admist the anxiety of the things that are going to happen this week, I've suddenly felt peace during work - an undescribable peace that, I know, came from God.

No doubt there's lots of things to accomplish at work and in church; some things I don't have confidence in accomplishing. But if I'm able to accomplish all these things on my own, am I just doing it for God, or with God?

Sure, at the end of the day, we may not win the game like the Shiloh Eagles. We may face even bigger problems after overcoming an obstacle. Our lives in this world isn't meant to be smooth going.

But God promises us peace in the midst of our trials. strength in the midst of our temptations, and hope in the midst of our despair.

So let us Face the Giants in our lives together with God. And like little David, we'll emerge victorious, not in the eyes of man, but in the arms of God.

Amen.

Service Please!

I think the human race is going to be distinguished soon... Ancient humans wanted BIG to show-off their authority.. But look around us now? Everything's getting smaller.. the handphones, the food servings, the music players!!

Can't even get a decent Discman now... hai~ wasted my trip to IMM...

Anyways, it was a bad experience at the store today... Sad to say, I'm utterly disappointed with the service staffS (ya.. I know there's no 'S' in 'staff' but there's really ALOT of them 'lingering' around) who are just in their own world... I wonder what are they employed to do? stand around and be a vase? I can get them (the vases) at Daiso for much less...

So here goes the story... I was there looking for a Discman which I saw last month... Well, as you guessed, it's not there anymore.. neither was there any more discmans... it's ok... next on the to-buy list, a polarising lamp (which doesn't come cheap at all).. I stood around the item for 30 mins and none of the staff approached me... not to mention I couldn't even make eye contact with any of them... snobs.. then I thought I saw my lucky stars!! the "Customer Service" counter!! Well, I stood there for another 30mins and no body actually cared to ask if I needed any help...
For a moment I was almost convinced that I was a ghost until one of them asked me, "Are you waiting for someone?"
Things got slightly better from there cos the lady kinda realised that I was waiting like super long for someone to just explain some things to me... Think that made her a bit nervous.. sorry abt that... didn't buy the light in the end..

Seriously speaking, what's the point of employing so MANY ppl when:
1) They don't serve customers until CUSTOMERS APPROACH them
2) They don't even know most of the products they are selling and the information they can offer is only the information on the write-up which is there for everyone to see

Just to let you new ppl know, I'm a person who's particular about service standards and frankly speaking, some restaurants don't deserve their service charge at all (do you know that you can refuse to pay the service charge if the service is really poor?)
Seriously, I can go on for another few paragraphs on this..... next time....

C'mon!!! SERVICE PLEASE!!!

Ok.. that's all the angst I have in me for now.. didn't offend anyone did I? If I did, please refer to my previous post for more information.

Think blogging's a good way to throw some steam off... What's wrong with discmans!?!?!?!?

Still Trying...

Yeah.. Surprise!!

Just had a BIG lunch at some Teochew restaurant at Shaw Centre... Think my only 'job' there is to eat and listen to life experiences (in hokkien, which I don't really understand).. Try eating with 5 moms and 1 dad on the same table for lunch and you'll understand what I'm trying to get at (don't get offended Moms and Dads.. nothing personnal... Actually I like listening to stories =))

Yesterday's Valentines.. yeah.. Valentines?? Yeah??
Are we living in such a systematic society that we have to set a day to love our family and friends? Do I hear objections? Please write in to me, if you have my address.. It'll take 3 working days to process and I'm in no ways obligated to reply... yeah... you get the idea ;)
I work like IN town so I do get to see many couples on the street when I'm at the bus-stop.. and people going around selling flowers to couples... and more couples walking around.. and more people selling flowers.... and even more couples.. flowers... couples... flowers...... yeah... you get the picture... it's not that bad actually...

But, how many actually still realises that it's still the period of the Lunar New Year? do you? Think it's just natural for us to look forward to things.. It's like New year's over, what's next? Valentine's over, what's next? Good Friday's over, what's next? Labour day's over, what's next? Weird, do we say "Happy Valentines" on the 15th of Feb? Or "Merry Christmas" on the 26th of Dec? Chances are we'll say "Happy New Year" than "Merry Christmas" on the 26th Dec.

When will we ever stop and look back at all the good times and bad times that we've had? When someone we cared for is not with us anymore? Or worse, someone who cared for us whom we take for granted.

Let's take this day (everyday in fact) to give thanks to God for all those we love and love us.

Happy Valentines Day!
