The Ever Changing Constant...

Hi Everyone =) here comes my first official update about my life here in Deutschland (a.k.a. Germany)

Firstly, thank you all who came to the airport to send me off in the wee hours of the 21st August. The moment I crossed those gates, I know that everything in my life will not be the same anymore. But we just gotta admit that the only constant in life, is change. yeah?

Spent most of the time on the plane sleeping and flipping through the letters and pages that contained so much love and care =) I've never felt so alone, but neither have I ever felt so comforted and loved =) But well, as I was sitting on the aisle, the couple sitting nearer the window has to occasionally climb over me to get out of their seat (cos I was sleeping most of the time yeah? heez).

Well, anyways, everything went well. Got through the checkpoints without any problems. After alighting, I took the train from Frankfurt to Köln. Met a guy on the train, Ralf. I was kinda taking a walk through the cabins when I met him at one of the connectors. He had a cup and a bottle of wine in his hand, which he gladly offered to me. And to which, I gladly accepted =) hehe.. It's his birthday that day too. nice =)

Anyhow, we've reached Köln and I parted my ways with Ralf. Chen Yun went to pick me up but got delayed by the train. By the time we reached Aachen, it's almost 12AM alr. Feels nice being back here where I was a year ago. Back in the same building. This time round, however, I've got my own room =) Nice small room with a Bathroom, cupboard, kitchen, tables, chairs, and of course, a bed. I just made the bed and went to sleep as soon as I can. Cos I know I can't handle the silence of the night, reminding me that all that was there, isn't there anymore. I can't do it, not yet.

The next day, I met up with the Koh's who invited me over for a nice lunch =) Chen Ning was there at the Bahnhof to pick me up. After lunch, Siew Boon showed me around town, bringing her daughter, Lyn along =) Lyn's only about a year old. Seeing the way she smiles, you know that she is always having a fun time =) of course, there're times when she throws tantrums but yet, she's still so adorable when she does that =) hehe..

Well, over the next few days I went around town settling the administrations. Chen Yun drove us to the Ikea in The Netherlands, which is very near where I stayed, and I got some stuffs there, at a discount.. haha.. cos they're clearing the old store in preparation to move into the new one. However, as you can expect, the queue is very long. That, however, did not put us off.. know why? cos they distribute sweets and cookies (yes! cookies!) to everyone in the queue. So, even though the waiting was long, it's not as grueling as it'd be..

Coincidentally, there's a Singaporean who's leaving Aachen for Mannheim to complete his thesis. So he generously donated his utensils and stuffs to me, not forgetting the Vacuum cleaner too! =)

So you can kinda say that I've got to settle down here quite quickly=)

Anyhow, school started a week after I arrived here.. And here, I cycle to school everyday =) first, cos transportation here's quite expensive. Next, it's kinda a good way for me to keep fit too =) hehe.. and also not feel that guilty for binging on food too =)

A normal day would see me leave home at 8.30AM and get home by 1PM.. and after I got my internet, I just got hooked on MSN... hehe... cos that's where I can talk to friends =) not that I don't have any friends here but guess it's still gonna take some time for us to warm up to each other..

So far, there're 2 more happening weekends. One which was with the Bible-study group I'm joining here in Aachen. They just decided to cook some dishes for everyone to celebrate Mid-autumn in Deutschland... feels great to be eating all the chinese food again =)

Another was at this carnival where they had stages set up in diferent areas of the town and there'd be live band performances.. Went with 2 of the classmates whom I'm closer with, and they were great company =) we went to take a ride on the ferry's wheel and the view was just magnificent =) being able to see the church from another angle is just breath taking =) after that we went for some drinks and also to end off the meeting with a nice chat =)

Well, it's been more than a month here now already... feels that I could do much more with my life... I know that this is the best time to go travel around but I dun have the desire to go plan something... I know the next weekend's gonna be a good chance but I've got a test on Thursday to prepare for in the first place.. hai.. guess I'm just giving myself excuses... haha..

It's going into Autumn from summer now... the weather's markedly colder than as compared to 2 weeks back.. the trees right outside my window which used to have healthy green leaves are starting to turn yellow... feels like the trees are embracing themselves for a new life to come... one where there'd be no more warmth, no more light... but within them, there lies a desire to look forward to the next summer to come... where they can once again reveal to people their lustrous beauty and glamour... just hang in there with me yeah? I know that this wouldn't be easy for us.. but I hope that the smiles that we bring each other, and the memories that we both share, will be enough to see us through this winter... At the end of the day, I'm glad that you're the one that I'm going through all these with =) Be strong and persevere... I'll be there with you till the very end...
